Yeah after “The Hangover” i gotta admit i jumped on the Zach Gilifianakis fan bus, but who cares? Sure he’s “in” now, but is that such a bad thing? naw son, Seth Rogan, Seth Macfarlane, also big popular dudes who i’ve followed and have yet to be disappointed. So when i saw the preview for this little gem, i was in.

Directed by:Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck released 2010

No one i know has seen this flick, i’ve never heard anyone talk about it, no big buz, nothing. This is odd for a film with such a current high profile actor like Gilifianakis, but hey things happen. as far as the directors, i’ve never heard of them, and this film has a serious independent edge. I’ve gotta say though, this movie really isn’t that funny. it’s kind of sad actually, but it’s got a truth in it that can’t be ignored. Basically a kid want’s to kill himself, he gets scared and emits himself into the institution. there he deals with his issues. Simple enough, but the execution is perfect. There’s alot of panic in the main character (keir gilchrist) who is a really good actor believe it or not. Right from the get-go you feel for this kid, mostly because he’s so real about his issue. He doesn’t get it, he knows how things should be, but they aren’t and it’s killing him inside.

This film really speaks volumes for those of us who have been in this kids shoes, and the supporting role by Gilifianakis is really great too. i would have to say it’s one of the best films 2010 shit out and you should give it a look.

Oh yes friends, it is time. Time for you all to be introduced to one of my very favorite bands. Straight out of one of the shittiest city’s I’ve ever been to in my life, Oakland California came The Matches. They nestled into my ears and have never left. And that’s a good thing, we all need a little Matches in our lives. Over their career they produced four exceptionally diverse an eclectic albums, starting as a normal California pop punk band and progressing to be one of the most dramatic and exciting group of artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. Their first cd “E. Van Dahl Killed the Locals” is one of my favorites of all time, their third and fourth cd’s are certainly in my collection, but not as acclaimed personally, but we’re not here to discuss those albums, no not at all. This is all about my third favorite album of all time…

The Matches: Decomposer

It’s been a while I know, but I’m back with a new review on a band you haven’t heard. I’ve always been a huge fan of Reel Big fish, their blatant cynicism and jaded opinion of the music business and life has always really captured me. Especially cause it’s the happiest sounding music you’ll ever hear, I love ska. One member in particular was always the most interesting to me, Scott Klopfenstein. I’ve seen the band about eight times and Scott’s always made me laugh my ass off, he’s a great trumpet player, a good guitarist and even better singer. I found out a couple years ago that after RBF’s release of “Cheer up!” (Great cd by the way, get it!) Scott broke off for a while with trombonist Dan Regan to form his own band “The Littlest Man Band,” and now I have it, and now you’ll read about it, enjoy.

Littlest Man Band: Better Book Ends

Released 9/23/2004 At the Helm Records

As we all know a new game is sweeping nerd world off it’s feet. you’ll see people talking about it all over the internet, and our good friend Urnow has recently purchased it. not only that but he’s only gotten off his ass since to go to work and read a few pages of V for Vendetta here and there. Infact, almost all of the qq-kids have purchased said game by now. Today, Saturday the 26th of February 2011 i woke up and decided it was MY TIME, it was my time to buy it, time to get MINECRAFT.

Debit card in hand, heart on my sleeve i nestled in to my computer. i had it all planned out, download, then play till i pass out. I knew something was wrong when it took forever to get the page up.

Minecraft.net has been down all day and still is at 9:45 PM

my day has been foiled. i will be updating you on this situation as it unfolds

Part 2!

Thats right friends, no music from me this week!

When I was a kid I loved comics. Scratch that, I ALWAYS loved comics, but it’s so hard to get into a story line right? Where do I start, what’s going on, what’ve I missed? They’re questions we all ask ourselves. When I received my computer I decided it was time I sucked it up and found out. The last book I had followed was the 90’s run of generation X, and when I was a kid I read all of the epic classic X-men, original X-factor and the New Mutants. They are all amazing books (I’m a Marvel guy BTW, I mean Batman’s the shit, but I don’t like DC generally) but I was waaayy behind the times. In 2008 I started reading up on what had been going on with Marvel. I found out about the House of M and shit. No way, everyone lost their powers? FUCK THAT. But I ended up getting the trade back and enjoyed it a lot. That’s been it until January 2011. I got my PC and have been downloading like a mad man.

Many important questions have been asked over the millennium; what’s that bright thing in the sky? Why are we here? Is there a god? However, none of these questions has been debated to quite the extent as the most important question of all.

WHO SHOT FIRST? HAN, OR GREEDO?
